About Footnoted.net
Welcome to footnoted.net. This site was developed during my undergraduate
and graduate studies at the University of Washington.
Directions:
- Use
the pull-down menu above to pick the source you’d like to reference.
- A list of questions will load
- Answer all the questions
- Press the “Get Results” button
- Your information will be formatted into APA, MLA and Chicago citation
styles
- Once your data has been processed you can cut and paste the
citation into your document.
Please note: your data is not stored
on my server nor does the data touch a database. It is simply carried
to the next page and formatted for you.
Also, not all sources have ‘all’ citation styles. Some sources (dissertations for example) only have
the Chicago Style listed. In the aforementioned pull-down menu I try to point
out which sources may have missing output sets. For further reference, you can
download current APA, MLA and Chicago Style Guides to the right (obtained from
the University of Washington’s Graduate Library (http://www.lib.washington.edu).
APA, MLA and Chicago styles do change from time to time. This
serves as fair warning: I am not responsible for the accuracy of these
forms. I check the accuracy of the outputted data about every six months
and feel comfortable pasting said output into my own scholarly work.
Lastly, if you do find something that doesn’t work right
(or something that seems wrong), please contact me (see the link below).
Also, if you find that the site is wonderful and it has really helped
you out, contact me, my self-esteem loves that stuff. If you find that
your experience is somewhere in the middle, don’t contact me.
Sinicism makes me laugh – and most people won’t read this far into
the text so it feels like safe place to write something off colour.
